435. Secrets – Jimmy A

SECRETS (1994)

Jimmy A

Jimmy A. (Abegg) is a true Renaissance Man with a exceptional artistic talents that extend from guitar playing and songwriting to photography and painting. His phenomenal guitar playing has graced the grooves of some of the best “artsy” Christian music ever recorded. He was the guitarist for Vector as well as the Charlie Peacock band and played on Peacock’s finest works. He eventually became a part of Rich Mullins’ Ragamuffin Band.

In the midst of all that he also recorded a few solo projects. Secrets was the second of his solo albums and contains some of Abegg’s finest guitar work and songwriting. The Bourgeois Tagg styled opener, Perfect World features a spoken word verse structure and big melodic chorus. Sweet Angel offers some great guitar work and most memorable hooks.

Along with the great music he has created Abegg’s artwork and photography has graced the covers of many CCM albums.
